SPRING, a time to celebrate new light and life, new pathways and new beginnings, growth, and a positive release of energy life force after the darkness which was before. That time for regrowth and self exploration, connection, embracing the longer days with the promise of better weather and journeys new is something many of us in the modern world take for granted. In nature and within ourselves regardless of belief systems, it represents all of this and we want to share with you what it means to us.
Following on from the huge success of the inaugural Autumn Equinox Gathering last year we are delighted to announce that Fenland Bushcraft will be hosting another activity filled weekend.... with 3 days and 2 nights of camping we will keep you warm and occupied at the award winning campsite.
New friendships are guaranteed with like-minded folks and discoveries made. Spaces are limited, and all activities included into the price are; herbalism walks and talks and learning about how nature heals with herbal first aid remedies, primitive pottery where you can create your very own symbolic jewelry, tree and plant identification walk and understanding their significant meanings, participate in making your own incense for a cleansing ceremony , learn the life affirming craft of fire creation using traditional methods, make yourself an equinox inspired gypsy flower under the tutorage of our experienced staff, forage for some Spring greens to go towards a tasty and nutritious soup, watch our resident spoon carver demonstrate how to whittle such a versatile tool, make a Spring Equinox wall hanging or tote whilst learning how to make nets, get handy with woodland jewelry and more....
All the activities are lead by a team of dedicated and professional crafters. If that's not enough there is also going to be a BBQ provided on the last evening (veggie options available just get in contact), and prior to that there will be beer and sausage tasting over at the main campiste reception area. Children are welcome. Some activities however won't be suitable for them.
This year we are extremely privileged to have with us the Fabulous ladies from Fenland Natural Health who will be imparting some herbal wisdom, along with Paul Smith of Paul Smith Primitive Bushcraft who will be doing his primitive crafts with us all. Other guests include Dr Steve Boreham who is a Cambridge Professor of Geography and he will be running the tree and plant talk with Fenland Bushcraft as well as running workshops on incense making and ceremonies.
We have organised a few pitches near Bushcraft HQ which will be shared with other like-minded folks in tents or under tarps (if you wish to bring a caravan please get in touch with the friendly staff at The Secret Garden Touring Park so that they can try and accommodate you on a separate pitch)..... the pitches are big and there are of course the fab facilities at 'The Secret Garden' campsite. Other than the foraged soup, sausages during beer and sausage tasting and the BBQ provided on the last evening, all other meals are self catered and you can purchase fire wood and other provisions at the campsite shop to use on the supplied communal firepits, or bring a stove of your choice.
